Hamper

How should a restaurant with many faces be designed? It is open from breakfast to dinner and even becomes a bakery at times. A picnic hamper is a magical tool that allows having a nice picnic anywhere with just one basket. We proposed a piece of large furniture like a picnic hamper that could be used in various ways: work table, checkout area, bar counter, etc. The restaurant space transforms throughout the day by turning up the lower shelf door to become a counter, moving the upper shelf door up and down, and moving the furniture itself along the rails embedded in the floor. The furniture represents the dynamic transition of the restaurant throughout the day.

一つ五役
朝から晩まで営業し、焼き菓子の販売なども行うさまざまな顔をもつレストランはどのような姿であるべきか。イギリスで使われるピクニックバスケットは、それ一つさえあればたちまちどこでも心地よいピクニックを楽しめる魔法の道具である。そんな道具のように、あるときは作業台、あるときは販売スペース、あるときはバーカウンターなど、1つで様々な役割をこなす大きな家具を提案した。下棚の扉を上げてカウンターとしたり、上棚の扉の上下や床のレールにのせて移動することで１日をとおして、時間にあわせて空間がうつりかわっていく。
